Suddenly, consciousness sinks its icy grip into you and yanks you into the realm of wakefulness.

Disoriented, you rise to your feet. Put one in front of the other. Who were you with last night? Are they all with you? Do they still take breath? You can’t tell. Not yet, at least. Instead, you stumble into the next area, and perhaps you’re not alone, but there is one thing that you are innately aware of: something is wrong. So very, very wrong.

The sky has a faint discoloration to it, and if you peer too closely, you might notice how the air seems to be thrumming, pulsing with magic. You can almost taste it—and if you aren’t careful, may choke on it. It’s best to focus on the task at hand in front of you first.

Welcome, Sacrifices, to your weekly investigation!

We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6PM EST and another set at 7PM EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8PM and 9PM EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial.

At 9PM EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). If you have any questions at any time, please let the mods know by pinging us on Discord!

[ it's just a Large Hole! they can't really measure it yeah, but there is some debris where they're standing, just roof debris, nothing mixed in there when he looks through it.

the Dark Stuff is some sort of liquid, it's hard to say from just looking since it's mixed in the dirt, but trails deeper into the barn. there's two trails of it traveling together: one is steady trail of droplets, and the other is more like a groove in the dirt mixed with the liquid. OH I MISSED DAAN CONTEMPLATING HAY, they are not orderly and neat, they're just sort of generally beneath the hole.

yuffie is gonna have to parkour a bit up onto the roof but sure she can get up there since she's a ninja. it looks like some of the shingles up here are damaged and scuffed, like the one that fell onto her, and of course there is the hole. ]

[ near the beach, the scuffled walking looks like two sets, and it runs into the wetter part of the beach. no mounds here.

aqua watches as the waves rush up onto shore and swallow what looked like tiny round footprints, four at a time.

at the coconut tree, the bark is scuffed on the trunk, and the ground below is littered with coconuts. ]

unfortunately this means he'll head right on in with no care for the disturbances in the dirt because he's never been on an investigation in his life and doesn't know what to do here. is the vegetable garden okay! ]

[ the items seem like they belong here, yes. like said earlier, they seem to be an assortment of benches, cushions, and the chests of the people who live in here. kind of rude to move them, actually. since lavi is looking at it closely while nona deals with the ukulele, he can spot some... blood, on this pile, actually.

Cool... is it like, a coloured dark and if so what colour. He gets some on his fingers and a brief sniff test. Does it smell more like blood or like motor oil. Banking on the former because we don't have a car.

What the fuck IS up with that groove? Does it look like a narrow groove, say, made with a sharper edge, or a wider groove made with something more broad? I had these pre-written but Mathis is looking too thanks boo.

[Whooops, bodied by a sheep. Needless to say, between a wide quadrupedal sheep having Initiative and a human who is less than 1.70 m tall and was caught by surprise, the sheep is the winner here. Erin is bodied and falls onto the grass.

First thought she had is that this better not have left bruises anywhere on her because she doesn't want to explain in the trial how she got them. 'I was ambushed by a sheep' is not very dignified]

Only thing real hurt here is my pride!

[or if you can see anything from above? she's going to crouch and kind of sort through these coconuts. they are all coconuts, right? she's checking all of them for any signs of damage, anything unusual, etc. she will let someone else check the bark or loop back to it later.]

and then its entire arm, claw and all, rips out from karlach's sexy strength. it falls onto the ground, kicks sand at her, and then scuttles away!!! BACK TO ITS WIFE!! without a prize, so now she will reject his advances.

listen. the coconut tree wanted you all to look at it, i don't make the rules. the bees at the coconut tree chase ashlyn, of course, since she is definitely the one who has done the MOST offense to them.

out in the ocean, a lone barrel bobs in the waves within swimming distance. ]

[ the vegetable garden is not fucking okay! iwatooshi gets hit by this cow exactly like a truck. ouuugh what are you gonna do about it now, big guy. though this cow also seems to have something draped on it? what the fuck is that!

erin will have to look around and notice that a lot of the fencing seems to be broken, though. a lot of it is broken and damaged in various ways, and some of the milk buckets have been knocked over. it's chaos out here. to explore further please roll for sheep damage. shamage.

asa, now after having a gourmet taste of le dirt, will be able to see that it looks like there's paw prints as well as other deep, straight line indents in the dirt that interrupt, fall around, and overlap against the paw prints ]

Normally he'd just jump up there, but since this will take more effort than that, he'll step around the coconuts on the ground to peer at the tree more closely. About how high up is the scuffed bark? Is it a large spot, or not really? He'll keep his sword unsheathed and in his hand, but he'll carefully peer up into the tree from below first, to see if there's anything down there... and to see if he feels like bothering to climb it... there's a nonzero chance he'll just try to cut it down so I hope he decides to tell Aerith to get out of the way if/when he does.]

did the tracks actually go all this way or did they stop at some point (or does that not matter)]
