[ mathis can find that the animals are having a great day. in fact, most of the general disarray of the barn, like the knocked over hay and barrels, avoids them completely. the cats walk up to be pet and are not carrying anything like loose fingers.
daan checks the hay bales, and won't find anything inside/under them, but two of the bales have some sort of indents in them.
