Suddenly, consciousness sinks its icy grip into you and yanks you into the realm of wakefulness.
Disoriented, you rise to your feet. Put one in front of the other. Who were you with last night? Are they all with you? Do they still take breath? You can’t tell. Not yet, at least. Instead, you stumble into the next area, and perhaps you’re not alone, but there is one thing that you are innately aware of: something is wrong. So very, very wrong.
The sky has a faint discoloration to it, and if you peer too closely, you might notice how the air seems to be thrumming, pulsing with magic. You can almost taste it—and if you aren’t careful, may choke on it. It’s best to focus on the task at hand in front of you first.

Welcome, Sacrifices, to your weekly investigation!
We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6PM EST and another set at 7PM EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8PM and 9PM EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial.
At 9PM EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). If you have any questions at any time, please let the mods know by pinging us on Discord!

How big are these dents, does it seem people-sized. He will try to keep these particular bales as intact as he looks around.
What about these barrels? Systematically opens each one up, this is what the first 10 minutes of every F&H gameplay looks like anyways. Will he find an egg? Rotten meat? Perhaps heroin? Don't ask questions. ]

[ can yuffie enter her bug net mind palace and figure out where this bug net would have originated from? otherwise, she's going to add it to key items, then check the rest of the outside of the barn. perimeter first, walking all around and looking at the barn itself and out into the field...... ]

daan can get the sense that one of the dents is large and one is less large. they could feasibly be about the size of a person or so, though it's hay so you're not getting exact shapes to make out here. there's nothing in the barrels, but as he's moving away from the hay bales to check, he can see some dark stuff in the dirt, trailing off.
no you cannot access your mind palace with the bug net. also there is no bold text in the barn? stop trying to be cool like the beach. she gets hit with a shingle from the roof as she's walking around outside for her troubles. ]

he will wander over to stand beneath the hole and try to see if he can estimate about how big it is. there's no measuring they can really do here, this is more just. is this person sized, multiple person sized, a quarter of the roof... is there debris below it?]

These bales of hay... were they neat or did they look scattered... like someone fell through the damn hole in the ceiling on top of them.
What the hell is this. Is it dark stuff (object) or dark stuff (stain/liquid) and what colour of dark are we talking... and where does it trail off to... opens my eye. ]

[ fine no bold text allowed.... she added it to key items..... and then got beaned over the head with a shingle. anyway she will just climb up this barn to the roof and try to discern damage from there. what's happening on this roof. how many shingles are going to come flying at her ]

the Dark Stuff is some sort of liquid, it's hard to say from just looking since it's mixed in the dirt, but trails deeper into the barn. there's two trails of it traveling together: one is steady trail of droplets, and the other is more like a groove in the dirt mixed with the liquid. OH I MISSED DAAN CONTEMPLATING HAY, they are not orderly and neat, they're just sort of generally beneath the hole.
yuffie is gonna have to parkour a bit up onto the roof but sure she can get up there since she's a ninja. it looks like some of the shingles up here are damaged and scuffed, like the one that fell onto her, and of course there is the hole. ]

mathis joins daan where he is investigating the Dark Stuff, lingering by him a little nervously. how wide is the groove comparative to like, a foot, i will inspect this so daan can find out if this is blood or something aaaa]

Cool... is it like, a coloured dark and if so what colour. He gets some on his fingers and a brief sniff test. Does it smell more like blood or like motor oil. Banking on the former because we don't have a car.
What the fuck IS up with that groove? Does it look like a narrow groove, say, made with a sharper edge, or a wider groove made with something more broad? I had these pre-written but Mathis is looking too thanks boo.
He's gonna keep on keeping on deeper into the barn following this. Show me the goods. ]

as they inspect the mystery groove thang, it's thinner than his foot, and the liquid that comes up off the dirt is red, and yes it smells like blood! the groove itself is on the thin side in general.
as he follows this, daan will eventually hit more of the blood... which is easy to confirm because there's a lot of it. this is a blool. there is a sickle dropped nearby as well.
yuffie can't discern too much EXACT information from the large hole, but it does look like it broke in towards the inside of the barn. the shingles are just generally scuffed. there is also something kinda caught in The Hole... but she can't reach it from where she is. ]

daan can pick up the sickle without messing up the state of it, but otherwise he forgets how to perceive sickles. must be a vision thing again. is he following after mathis, or perceiving the blool some more? checking something else?
yuffie gets the sense that she will have to like, swing into the barn and jump to get this shit. it's snagged on some of the broken roof supporting bits. is she going to try? if so, roll a d20 for me please. ]

[ Distractedly to Yuffie, because there's things happening here. Wow, Daan's eye is failing him, this is so sad. Well just note that he is being careful to not affect the state of the sickle much because of Saturday shenanigans, he's resigned to things happening tomorrow.

yes you've both been perceiving it but you don't really glean much else from the blool besides that it's a large amount of blood and that the sickle was nearby! daan can perceive the same as mathis when he looks over where he is.
